"My mentored girl is the third of four children and was recently venting some frustration at her little sister. 'I have to share a bedroom with her. She breaks things all the time. Mom says I have to share with her because she's my sister and it's nice to share things.'

"After a few seconds of silence, she beamed at me, 'But I don't have to share you with anyone!' "
